The Ultimate Debate on Timing

Wanted to get perspective on the line you hold regarding being late vs being on time. Some of my fellow analysts will schedule a call for 3:30, and jumping on anytime before 3:35 is considered on time. Other analysts think 3:30 is borderline late. Not sure there's a correlation to performance/bucket, but curious to hear what's your line of on time v late (assuming no other call/nothing runs over)

I think 2-3 minutes late is generally an acceptable overage if you had another call run long, anything more I'd send a note asking if it should be pushed back (or sooner if I know the call will run long).

Otherwise I'd view it more as person specific. Most people I've found login at the exact time because that's when they get the outlook popup so the meeting really starts 1 - 2 min late. I have one partner who's anal about a 3:00 meeting starting at 3:00 so you have to be there ahead of time. Haven't seen any correlation to performance beyond pissing off seniors in those situations. 5 minutes late is pretty bad.
