Thoughts on LinkedIn Internship Farewell Announcement?

Guys, is it even necessary to write a farewell post on LinkedIn? Like, it makes sense to announce your internship acceptance, but I just don't get the purpose of the farewell post. If you didn't receive an offer, no need to tell them you miss them. If you're moving to another place, same thing (will you really be missing an MM shop if you're latering to Goldman?). You were only there for 10 weeks, and it's not like you're leaving after 10 years of making genuine connections and impact to your firm. I feel like these internship farewell posts seem a bit forced. Thoughts?

Just for clarification, it also doesn’t make sense to announce your internship acceptance. When you update your LinkedIn to show that you are interning at XYZ bank, that is your announcement. No additional context is needed. The day will come where you can justify making a LinkedIn announcement, but you’re not there yet.
