I had a superday interview with a BB (NY) this Monday for a lateral analyst position and was wondering how long it typically takes to hear back on whether you got the offer or not?
If I haven’t heard back yet (2 days since superday), is it safe to assume that I’m most likely not getting the offer?
Based on the most helpful WSO content, the timeline to hear back after a superday for a lateral position can vary significantly. Unlike structured processes for summer analyst or full-time recruiting, lateral hiring is often unstructured. Some candidates hear back the same day or within a few days, while others may wait weeks or even a month. For example, one user mentioned that a bank took a month to extend an offer after their superday.
At this point (2 days after your superday), it’s not safe to assume you’re out of the running. Banks may still be deliberating or waiting to finalize decisions. If you haven’t already, sending thank-you emails to your interviewers and reiterating your interest in the role is a good move. Patience is key, as the process can be nerve-wracking but unpredictable.
