Top Bulge Bracket Groups

Saw a similar old thread regarding this topic, but I wanted to get an update. Here are the groups that I'm interested in: - M&A - Financial Sponsors - TMT ( I know some split tech and media and comm) - C&R - HC

Can we get a list of the strongest BBs (in order) for each one of these groups? Feel free to add other groups as well. A general "Top Group on the Street" ranking would also be helpful for many of us that are navigating recruiting right now. Especially interested to hear from people in the industry already, rather than college kids, but you guys feel free to give your opinion as well!

In before some troll says RBC and then a whole convo about “is RBC a BB?” thread. Please. save everyone time and dnt bring it up LOL

no noticeable difference in exits, go with culture as each is awful in its own way(not snark, i'd sign an offer at either)

GS TMT is definitely better from an exits standpoint and works on more Tech M&A deals whereas MS Menlo works on more IPOs and financings.

its usually JP MS GS and then a mix of Barcap Citi and Baml for coverage groups, obviously some exceptions but rule of thumb.

Post history says your only topic is called "UBS PE Exits?", so I'm assuming you're going there.

Citi, Barclays, DB have much better sponsors groups compared to UBS. Barclays in particular runs a top 5 practice out of LA/NYC.

There aren't any public league tables as far as I know for FSG groups. You can check the FT league tables for loans (particularly check Highly Levered loans which are somewhat a proxy for FSG deals).

The overall FT rankings show the proportion of fees generated by different activities such as M&A, bonds, loans, etc. You'll note that, e.g. Credit Suisse and Barclays look pretty identical with a focus on fixed income related fees, underlining their strong FSG and LevFin franchises, but Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley have a much higher proportion of M&A.
