Neither of these schools places well at all ....
I heard Ivey was by far the strongest in terms of placements followed by Queens. What is Waterloo?
Generally an engineering school but ranked around #2 for engineering so a lot guys get recruited
Ivey and Queens basically have 90% of the pie when it comes to placements (both US and Canada). Other schools like Waterloo are also doing well for Canadian placements with a few alumni in the states. Laurier is also ok for Canadian placements. Can't say for UofT or Schulich (havent met many from those schools)
There are very few undergrad UoT (Rotman) placements. Nothing against them but they're mostly a Big4 feeder. Shulich places incredibly well for a school associated with YorkU (a few come to mind at BAML, Big5, GHL) Laurier has historically had the advantage in IB co-op recruiting but Waterloo's rising reputation is beginning to show. Notable placements include Q, GS NY/SF, Lazard and Evercore. A few alumni have recently broken into MF PE. If you were to make a safe bet on recruiting, I would probably lean towards Ivey/Queens. I'd probably be slightly biased towards Queens because at this point, the recruiting process is so accelerated that students get their offers before they even enter Ivey... I don't actually know too many McGill guys on the street but there's definitely a presence in the US. No idea where Bill gets his facts about "UW being a #2 for engineering" unless he's following some BS Macleans rankings. UW is the best Silicon Valley feeder in Canada when you consider CS, SWE and ECE. Not saying engsci isn't incredible but if you're trying to to break into a FANG job, you're probably better off at UW. Most domestic students choose Waterloo over UoT if given both offers into engineering.
Edit: Rotman MBA is a different beast from undergrad
Queens/Ivey are the top spots, McGill closely following. Waterloo, Laurier and the dual degree between them are akin to semi-targets, decent placement but nothing in crazy volume.
UBC Sauder's PMF programme is tops, Shulich sometimes shows up, not a big number of UofT undergrad.
