Deal flow in M&A is strong. Solid culture with a heavy emphasis on modeling. Lots of technical learning / exposure at the junior level. They’ve done some nice deals recently

Tech is one of the best in the middle market space along with HL, RayJay, and WB and does a lot of M&A

M&A only does live deal work from what I've heard and they have some solid mandates going on

Healthcare very strong but more capital markets work than M&A

On the legacy TD side: Comms & Media, LevFin, P&U

On the legacy Cowen side: Tech, HC, M&A

Don't know much about M&A other than that there's some smart people there and culture seemed a little off

Have seen some good laterals/decent exits moreso from the legacy Cowen groups as opposed to the TD groups - Cowen tech's exited to H.I.G., Silversmith, JMI, Bessemer, Norwest, STG, Volition, Stripes; laterals include the top boutiques and BBs you can think of: Evercore, Goldman, JPM, Moelis, etc.

TD/Cowen's a decent platform to start your career but it's stuck in that range where it won't churn out a ton of MM deals like HL/Moelis but it also won't be working on the huge mega deals that everyone sees on WSJ

I believe it is all ex-CS. TD built out the team post-Cowen acquisition
