Treating yourself with bonus
What do you guys plan on treating yourself with when bonuses hit for analyst? I get mine in August, plan to save most but want to treat myself to something. Maybe good seats at a Football game or something, not sure yet

I bought a speedmaster with my first and think I’m going to buy an LV pocket organizer
$10,000 today is a million at retirement. Remember that.
Pretty sure with the level of risk (~10% over Rf) you would have to take on to get 100x your money over 45 years, your odds of blowing up and having near 0 at end are pretty high… might as well just blow it on a submariner today
With average SP compounding you don't quite hit a million with 20 K but you get pretty damn close.
I'm gonna upgrade to the combo at my nearest drive-through.
Man Intern money hits differently
i am conservative but bought a Seiko watch. decent peice prospex but anything more is not necessary if you actually could use the money or might need it. for example, i would be kicking myself if i had went and bought a rolex and wasted it all at once just to impress people that will resent you for it
As a teller in private equity, I don’t receive any carry :(
Gonna get blue bottle coffee that day instead of my usual dunkin
Tesla stock.. YUMZ
Just starting this year so I have never recieved a bonus but I spent some of my signing bonus on a $200 booster box of magic the gathering cards that I intend to keep sealed up and give to my kids one day. Been a player since I was a kid so I figured it would be a cool gift. I'll do the same with additional bonus checks.
I thought about doing this with firearms as well since they dont really depreciate in value but they will take up too much space.
Are you okay? Slash are you on a No Fly list (yet)?
What, you've never been skeet or trap shooting before? Hunting? Nothing? Nice guns are cool. Plenty of people collect them.
Better hobby than playing golf lmao.
what the actual fuck
Guns are absolutely the way to go. It sucks the center of finance is a city ran by looney toon liberals
I'm honestly killing myself for not applying to positions in Houston. Seems like it could be a great crowd.
I'm eyeing a mid-graded Alpha Black Lotus :)
Please do it and keep in your wallet at all times to flex.
x
I usually try and take a 2 day 2 night vacation somewhere local that's fun. If I am dating someone I might get a little nicer room but other than that I just try and enjoy what is around and local.
Really like this idea. Any recommendations on cool places you’ve gone?
Well I am not on one of the coast so a lot of my recommendations are local places.
I feel like a 2 day/night getaway would have to be relatively local (i.e. half day travel distance), personally wouldn't want spend half of that time just getting to the place. I'm big on outdoor type stuff, so one of the things my GF and I did last year was a National Park binge (Chicago based so pretty easy to get to everything). Now that things are returning back to normal, we want to do an international trip - looking at Colombia mainly.
Thinking about getting a watch. Any recommendations?
Omega speedmaster is so classy and not as pretentious as a rolex imo. Not sure how well it goes with a suit tho
it's also the most boringly ubiquitous watch, just like a Rolex sub.
What budget and type (dressy, sporty, etc)?
Grand Seiko spring drives are a great investment
I have a skyflake for my work watch. It's beautiful and absolutely no one gives it a second glance. Perfect.
I feel like a lot of analysts get speedys, seamasters, or subs. All solid options, make sure you buy it bc you love it though and not to impress others. If you have your eye on a nicer watch you could also put some money away with the intention of getting a much nicer watch in 2-3 years. Something like a daytona
Price range? The watch market gone to the moon since fall of last year... high demand and constrained supply.
Van Cleef piece & the Bvlgari cabochon serpenti bag in black.
Maybe a better GPU, idek lmao
Plan to invest most of it but think I will treat myself to a nice Canada Goose jacket for the winter.
Finally something I will def take into consideration as its of great use. not much for watches or anything to impress others. I still buy $20 shirts from amazon, idc much for what others think..i like my money
Hope to get fit for a new set of clubs when I get first bonus
Hookers and blow my friend
