Trying to date during Junior yr SA internship

Incoming nyc intern, was wondering if anyones found their gf or current s/o during their internship in the city. I go to a big 10 party school with not that many high quality girls and all just looking for fun instead of actually wanting to date. Was interested in hearing everyones thoughts in putting effort into dating seriously during junior yr internship and how to go about it.
Thanks

NYC is similar my guy. Focus on getting a return offer not getting your dick wet. Even if you did meet the girl of your dreams 1) you’ll be working 80+ hours a week 2) you really want to do long distance your senior year of college?

Forget the haters. If you’re in the office all the time, you can only play the cards you’re dealt: go after the C&R A2A, or better yet, take on the HR team. That way you lock in the RO too and save yourself time worrying about either

Dating during a Junior Year SA internship in NYC can be challenging but not impossible. Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some insights and tips:

  1. Time Management is Key: Internships in investment banking often come with 80-100 hour work weeks, leaving little time for socializing. Prioritize efficiency in your work to carve out time for personal life. As one user shared, meeting their future spouse involved quick dinners at 10 PM before heading back to work.

  2. Leverage Your Network: Many people meet potential partners through friends or social circles. Building a solid group of friends in NYC can help you expand your network and meet like-minded individuals. One user mentioned meeting dates or FWB relationships through their core group of friends in the city.

  3. Avoid Workplace Relationships: While it might be tempting, dating coworkers during your internship is generally discouraged. It can lead to complications and potentially harm your professional reputation. As one WSO user bluntly put it, "DO NOT SLEEP WITH YOUR CO-WORKERS. Made that mistake."

  4. Be Realistic About Expectations: Given the demanding nature of the internship, it might be tough to pursue a serious relationship. However, if you’re genuinely interested in dating, focus on quality over quantity. NYC offers a diverse pool of people, so you might find someone who aligns with your goals and values.

  5. Use Your Free Time Wisely: When you do have downtime, consider attending social events, joining hobby groups, or even using dating apps to meet people. NYC is a vibrant city with endless opportunities to connect.

Ultimately, while dating during a Junior Year SA internship is possible, it requires careful prioritization and realistic expectations. Focus on building meaningful connections and balancing your professional and personal life effectively.
