UBS best Industrials on the Street?
Rumor has it that UBS has the best Industrials group on the street or is the UBS Analyst that told me that just fibbing? Anyone here know about deal flow in the Chicago office? What's the deal with bonuses are they being held hostage still?

UBS shut down their investment banking operations in Chicago after the recession; they only have S&T and financial advisory in Chicago now. Based off of clients, JPM has the best industrials office in Chicago, but GS has nonstop deal flow
What about Citi? UBS has a whole floor and the associate is recruiting me for an open role... so they still have some presence.
They must've started their Chicago practice up again, my b. But Citi Chicago is almost entirely Consumer & Retail and one of the 2 or 3 MD's in the office just left
I used to believe in you. Cary Kochman moved from UBS to Citi in mid 2000's and is head of M&A and industrial in Chicago, VP there told me they have 80 people of IB and 30 of them are Industrial?
They definitely do have industrials there, I've just heard most of the deal flow coming through the office is C&R
and that the main C&R MD recently left
If you had to work for an IB bank in Chicago that wasn't an American bank which bank and group and why?
I'd absolutely choose CS. Their Chicago office is strictly business services and its got awesome people. If you're looking for exit ops, its a great office since nearly every PE firm is interested in services rn

Don't see any job postings for them in chicago, are they posted out of NYC and assigned to Chicago or do you just have to network for an unposted job at CS?
Not sure; it may be worth an email to HR to see how they structure it
Most banks define what falls under industrials a little differently so this is kind of an irrelevant question (not apples to apples). Any BB is going to have ample deal flow under its Industrials umbrella.
I'm inclined to be skeptical of this claim in general because overall UBS is competing with DB for worst BB.
Isn't that kind of like being upset that you have the worst house in the Hamptons?
