UBS London Best Teams for Exits
Looking for some guidance. Aware of previous discussions but none reflect effect of UBS-CS integration and current 2023 market.
1) What teams at UBS London get looks from UMM headhunters? Eg M&A, TMT, GIG, LevFin etc
2) Is it 2 year analyst to associate due to Credit Suisse integration?
3) Is it correct that the valuation work is primarily assigned to the M&A team and not to the industry coverage groups?
4) How are lateral exit opportunities from UBS into top 3/4 BBs at associate level?
Thanks
Isn't FIG traditionally one of the lesser recommended groups for PE exits?
Hey there! Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some insights:
1) When it comes to UBS London, the M&A, TMT, and GIG teams are often highly regarded. These teams tend to have a good deal flow and are known for their strong culture and work-life balance. This makes them attractive to UMM headhunters.
2) As for the Credit Suisse integration, I'm afraid I don't have specific information on whether it has led to a 2-year analyst to associate transition at UBS London.
3) In many investment banks, it's common for the M&A team to handle a significant portion of the valuation work. However, this can vary depending on the specific structure and culture of the bank.
4) Lateral exit opportunities from UBS to top-tier BBs at the associate level can be quite promising, given UBS's strong reputation and the valuable experience you'd gain. However, it's important to note that such transitions always depend on a variety of factors, including individual performance, networking, and market conditions.
Remember, these are general insights and the actual situation can vary. It's always a good idea to reach out to people in the industry for the most current and specific advice. Good luck!

EMEA FIG has historically been a very solid team for MF exits. It's been a few years since I was at UBS so potentially a bit outdated but over the course of a few years I saw multiple Blackstone exits, Apollo, Ares, Permira, Oaktree etc.
Other teams that come to mind are M&A, UK Coverage and TMT. Similar across the rest.
