For NYC, best groups are GIG, FIG, TMT (NY mainly covers media and telecom), and LevFin. Exits from those groups are mainly MM PE with occasional UMM/MF

Bonuses, like the rest of the street, are pretty high this year due to record deal-flow and in-line with most other BBs

Culture wise, I know GIG can be pretty intense and demanding while TMT is known to be more chill and fun.

How is M&A group? And is TMT still good in NYC even after the exodus of SF? I'm guessing you work at UBS?

Bump. Also curious. Incoming NYC SA there and trying to figure out best groups to network with. Anyone know the middle of the pack groups? Like have decent deal flow, good culture, but not total sweatshop like hours? Is TMT worth to shoot for or no since the group is being completely redone? I know the SF practice has been gutted but not sure about NY
