Undisputed Finance Aura Tiers (London Edition)

Saw a bunch of tier lists on here that were either delusional or written by people who have never actually worked in finance, so here’s the correct version.

This is based on the only 3 things that matter:

  • Comp
  • Prestige (what people in the industry actually think, not your mom)
  • Exits

No comments with “but lifestyle is better”, “I enjoy it more” stop coping.

S-Tier:
Top Hedge Fund, MF Private Equity, Founder, Family Office (when it is your family)

A-Tier:
Private Credit, Elite Boutique IB (M&A / RX), Growth Equity

B-Tier:
Bulge Bracket IB (Coverage & LevFin (except DB)), Bulge Bracket IB (Product), Sales & Trading (Any desk)

C-Tier:
Secondaries PE, Family Office (not your family), Mid Market IB & DB, Equity Research

D-Tier:
Asset Management, Wealth Management, Corporate Development

E-Tier:
Commercial / Corporate Banking, Investor Relations (Unless you are a hot scandi girl from SSE or CBS), Anything Big 4 (no TAS is not better)

Sales & Trading is either A-tier or C-tier depending on your desk. No in between.

Curious where people disagree, but if your argument starts with “work-life balance” just ignore this post.

It seems like you're referencing a tier list for finance roles in London, but unfortunately, the specific "Undisputed Finance Aura Tiers (London Edition)" isn't included in the WSO dataset provided. If you're looking for similar rankings or insights, the dataset does include tier lists for investment banking, consulting, and schools, which might provide some relevant comparisons.

If you'd like, I can help summarize or compare those rankings instead. Let me know!
