US Permanent Resident from Ivey- easier to get a job?

I am currently a third year student at Ivey and I'm also a US permanent resident. People told me it would be much easier for me to get a IB job in the states since firms don't need to go through the troubles of obtaining a Visa for me. However, my grades are not top in the grade- I'd say they are in the top 20% of my class so I'm wondering when they are selecting candidates for the first interview, would they look at marks first? Then later on in the process, having the US residency would give me more credentials than other candidates. Or would I be able to land an interview without amazing marks but solely due to my residency?

um no. most people are residents, so that isn't a qualification that automagically gets you an interview. that just keeps you from getting auto-dinged. if you have shitty grades, you can expect a rough time landing a banking gig.

What the fuck kind of a stupid question is this? If you put "Resident of the United States" on your resume, get that shit out of there, or I'm gonna put "Citizen of the United States" and knock you out of the running.
