Vanderbilt becoming the next Northwestern?

Feel like Vanderbilt University is having a similar rise to Northwestern University over the last few years for IB recruiting.

Acceptance rate is down to like 4%, finance culture seems way more intense now, alumni network keeps growing, and placement honestly looks much stronger than people on WSO still give it credit for.

Also think the NYC campus/presence is a sneaky big deal long term for recruiting and networking.

Anyone else feel like Vandy is moving into a different tier for high finance?

Incoming senior at Vandy, some of his "friends" have come out and said that he was bragging to them about how many "frat guys" he was able to take down by emailing their firms. Apparently his tactic was to barrage HR with several different emails until they got back to him which led to several investigations. At least 2 people have lost their offers.

I dunno, it still feels like a delineation of tiers. Vandy likes to play games with the applicants, and I’d group them in more of the ND level than Northwestern

Would put them at the same tier tbh, if not UVA a little higher just due to placement

recently spoke to an alumni at a top BB who told me they officially consider vandy a target now. the upcoming SA class has 16 kids from vandy (2nd most, more than Harvard, Wharton...). ironically, pretty sure they kicked off northwestern from their target list

I just checked and it looks like it dropped to about 10-15%. I've met a lot of Vandy kids and they are smart and def know how to have fun compared to these Stern kids
