Wells Fargo FSG
Can someone speak on Wells Fargo FSG and whether they hold the pen on the models? Also, if you can add color on how a process being worked on by both FSG and LevFin would shake out. Who holds pen on which items (credit committee, LBO modeling, legal docs)? Thank you.
FSG holds the pen on the models. Levfin digs into the credit fundamentals more when it comes to things like spreading comps and reading through the indentures/credit agreements.
Do juniors work on M&A too, or mainly financings? Curious how much relationship work exists.
Mix of both. Definitely a lot of refi's, but there's certainly a fair amount of M&A and LBO work as well. Group pretty much does everything.
WF FSG group does the modeling, but it’s just like cash flow modeling used in credit memos. Not full three statement modeling.
They don’t do much M&A because sponsors don’t usually need buyside M&A support and when they do, they aren’t asking WF.
WF has led like three LBOs in five years. The LevFin group has led some acquisition financing stuff, but was mostly all corporate.
FSG group among the best for PE exits at WF outside of M&A, but don’t expect to lead a lot of transactions. You just write memos all day.
What about non-PE exits such as credit shops? How have LevFin, M&A and FSG been in that realm
