What are such groups called?
Groups in a bank that help companies raise equity, debt and hybrids. I understand that ECM/DCM come at a later stage where they play more of a "sales" role (marketing the new offering to funds / organising road shows etc / book building etc) while there's a group in banks that help in modelling / advising on what kind of capital to issue. Is there a particular name of this kind of group?
Thanks!
^Well that would be the investment banking department...
i thought "investment banking department" was an umbrella term for all IB activities - M&A / ECM / DCM etc?
Coverage group
aren't coverage groups like "country coverage" / "industry coverage"
as opposed to products group that deal with M&A / DCM etc?
I am assuming that the group that i am talking about deals in all industries / all countries, so how would that be a coverage group?
Thanks!
Could you be thinking of capital structure optimization groups? At a lot of BBs these are just called financial strategies groups within IBD.
Thanks very much for your help!!
