what courses?

I was wondering what courses would be most helpful for an entry level position in ibanking. i.e investments, derivatives, accounting, economics, capital investment etc. Additionally if somebody could recommend any courses from outside the business faculty. Any comments and advice would be greatly appreciated.

PS. I have taken most of those finance courses mentioned above...just wondering which ones would be good to review for interviews and internships.

maybe u should say ur school or ask ppl at ur school... hard for ppl to just assume courses. for mine its a variety, hard to just say u should take corporate finance and that's it. I think taking some higher level accounting helps, maybe even some fundamentals to tax as well. along with things like financial statement analysis that helps u dig through the notes in statements. Again not sure about ur school just thinking of mine. To be honest though there is only so much you can take, and at internship time i dont think they expect u to have taken derivatives like u said, and i highly doubt ib will ask u how to price them (unless u trap urself into it).

Generally, corporate finance ("financial management" for some schools), intermediate financial accounting, financial statement analysis, something along along the lines of capital markets and corporate financing/investing decisions. I think derivatives is more appropriate for trading, but I'm not sure. But yes, make sure you do well in your classes even though you don't need an A in everything. And there really is no one way, so any curriculum works if you go to a good school.
