What is the relationship between Summer Associate and Summer Analyst?

Currently a summer analyst at a BB, we just finished training and are starting to get put on live deal experience. My deal also has two summer associates, where should the summer analyst fit in? What are the default dynamics between them since we are all interns? If anyone who has already started their live deal experience this summer has input, I would be grateful.

You answer to the summer associates. You both answer to the full time analyst.

if the analyst has more free time, they’ll divide work amongst the three of you. If they’re very busy and /or trust the summer associate, they’ll assign work to them who will in turn assign work to you.

i have virtually no interaction with my associate, only my summer associate. Is this normal?

do you and your summer assc have different tasks? Also in a big group, but the full-time assc always assigns work for the summer analysts and assc to do together

Current summer associate and I'm basically reporting to the FT analyst alongside the SA. The way I look at it, we are both interns and therefore equals for the summer.

On some other teams it has felt more like the summer associate was paired up with the FT associate and the SA was paired up with the FT analyst. But most of my teams have been like the first example I used.

What is the Summer Asso isn't chill? Am at a bank known for lower return rates and the Summer Assos also seem pretty competitive with one another, most of the times the Summer Asso asks me to do the work then he sends the email over saying "I" put this together, I'm worried that if the FTs aren't aware that I'm putting in the work with the Summer Asso it'll affect my own return...
