When Do We SAs Start Reaching Out to Analysts for Group Placement
Is right now a good time to start? My bank sent their initial email recently but no detail on group placement or anything like that. I'm pretty lost because I emailed bankers back in January but they said it was to early, but no one responded in February so I didn't send emails in March and now I'm kind of scrambling. I'm a non-target so I don't really have any school connections to rely on so I'm honestly pretty nervous as to how to go about this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Given that we are ~60 days from the start of the internship, I would guess that now is a good time to start. Even though I got into my group directly (ie. no group placement) I am planning on networking internally/introducing myself starting next week.
No one is responding to my emails, not even people I previously networked with, is there anything I can do to sidestep this or anything?
That's a tough situation. Try reaching out to one of the people who was key in your recruiting at that bank. For me, that is the alum who spoke to me multiple times to help prepare for the interview process and superday. While I have already spoken to him once in the past month our plan is he would give me the contact info of the other members that I could reach out to network with. See if there is a similar guy you can be your inside man to help you network. Or, you could also just reach out to HR to ask if there's someone you could speak with to learn more about a particular group.
Thanks anon, I feel really discouraged right now, especially because I reached out a while back (January) and then I stopped because no one was responding to the emails. I'm kind of disappointed and now I'm scared I won't get into a decent group, despite having put in the work. I'm a bit frenetic right now honestly, because I feel like I'm too late.
Which bank? I know some are having group placement soon and some have already finished. Would probably be able to give you better advice with more context
