The admission tiers of Canadian universities aren't determined by the university name, but by the specific program (area of study, department, etc).

Most top programs in Canada have crazy degree names, mostly as a marketing gimmick in order to stand out I think...

Anyways, if you think Honors Bachelor of Arts is weird, guess what iBBA is for Schulich haha...

Sometimes I really wish Ivey just named its degree as "BA"

HBA probably looks so toolish from an American point of view.

That doesn't sound right... All the Ivey resumes I've seen have said "Bachelor of Arts". In contrast, Queens does have a seperate BComm.

AFAIK HBA is a marketing name but the degree awarded is still a BA (Hons), (intentional) coincidence that HBA can stand for both.

Also my buddy tells me Evercore's recruitment at Ivey is very limited and only recently a "target".

bobbylouIt's Honours Business Administration, not Bachelor of Arts...

Woops my bad haha

I was thinking of an Ivey grad's profile on Morgan Stanley careers when I was typing that. The MS website just stated her degree as a Bachelor of Arts.

Anyways I'm just trying to point out that American post-secondary institutions usually award either a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science, even for some business schools like Wharton. Although there are exceptions like Ross, which awards a BBA.

And don't get me wrong I think Ivey is a great school. I'm just stating a small opinion for a school that I care for. I'm sorry about the manner in which I presented my opinion, and I hope I didn't offend anyone...
