Where to find In-Depth Analysis on M&A Deals?

Does anybody know where I can find in-depth analysis (i.e. the nitty-gritty details of a transaction) on past M&A transactions online for free? For context I am in the recruiting process and want to be able to talk about a deal in a way where I am fluent with everything that was happening with the deal. With my current sources of information I feel like that has not been possible. Thanks in advance

Waste of time and effort. Keep to the high level

If you want to talk about a deal, pick a large ish public deal.

Look at the presentation used for the deal announcement and focus on this.

  • who buys what? Who was doing what before?
  • what does the combined look like, why is it attractive
  • what is the deal value, how is it structured and financed

All of this can normally be found in that announcement. If you can't, look at another deal.

It's my go to site. They do great write ups on deals. If you are looking for the nitty gritty along with solid analysis of why the transaction took place and future expectations, this is it

Unrelated to your question, but this post gave me flashbacks to MDs requesting hyper specific fee runs and then being furious that there were minimal comps

"Can you pull together a list of sellside advisory fees from M&As involving semiconductor companies between $534mm and $792mm in enterprise value located in Montana, Texas, or Ecuador?  SNL probably has them all, need for my call in 5 min, thx"

Real answer: Mergersight is great for recruiting prep
