Which Banks Offer Non-Diversity Sophomore Internships?

Title. Any help is appreciated. I've used the search function and there's no definite list out there. I'm interning at a PE firm this freshman summer, would this help me leverage into a junior level internship for my sophomore summer?

Actually, most banks have their internship programs reserved for juniors. Only way sophomores can come in are through diversity programs.

I was previously an IB sophomore SA at a BB, and there were only 10 of us- all diversity save 1 kid. However, plenty of larger programs have a lot of non-diversity sophomores. Based on the people I know, it is certainly possible to get if you're non-diversity, but you have to be connected and/or qualified. For non-IBD and smaller firms, it seems much easier to land something for your sophomore summer.

How difficult was the process for you to land that diversity IB internship? Were your interviews super technical?

It varied. Some sophomore SA programs section you off and give you easier work than the juniors- those superdays were very fit-based with pretty generic technicals. Other BBs lump all the sophomore and junior SAs in the same pack and send you to junior superdays, which were less relaxed and more difficult. In terms of superday technicals, BBs across the board are a very doable level of difficulty. If you study enough that you can understand why an answer is correct- and thus, can reason your way through things- you will be fine (ie: don't just memorize the MI400). Networking, social skills, and a genuine, informed interest in IB seemed much more important to getting the offer. Also, almost every sophomore candidate I met (myself included) had an excellent GPA from a target school. There is no denying that elitism plays a role in your ability to get an offer, even (or especially) for diversity hires.

Would be happy to pm you if you want to discuss more specifics.
