Who advises on in-house M&A for investment banks?
stupid question, but who is the buy-side advisor for an investment bank? e.g. GS bought some fintech firms a while back, do GS M&A bankers advise on their own firm's acquisitions in conjunction with their corp dev team? or does the corp dev team take care of it on their own?
to my knowledge I always thought corp dev teams hired bankers to advise them, so I'm a little curious as to how this is usually done
Hire outside bank
