Who to address by name and who to address as Mr./Ms
Starting my junior summer internship at a UMM PE firm (ignore title). I'm wondering if there's a general rule of thumb for addressing colleagues by name versus Mr./Ms. I've heard that anyone above the associate level should be addressed formally, while analysts and associates can be addressed by their first names. However, I'm aware that MBA associates might be older than the typical 25-year-old associate. Is this rule true and any general advice on how to navigate this?
If you call anyone Mr I'm gonna bully you
haha does that mean no one is addressed as Mr.? even in my first week should I call a VP/MD by his/her name?
if you want a seat at the big boy table you gotta act like you belong there. You call everyone by his or her first name.
Never Mr./Ms.
The correct term to use for the Group Head you're interning with is "Daddy".
Your welcome.
Don't know how stuffy your particular shop might be, but it has been a long time since I have heard anyone call anyone else at the same firm by anything other than their first name. At my consulting shop, PE clients, corporate clients, everyone uses everyone else's first name. Even the most junior guy speaking to a C-suite/senior exec type.
