Qatalyst, PJT, and Moelis have all had a decent year so far… good growth throughout. Friends at Evercore have not been too happy with where the firm’s been going lately. They had a rough recruitment cycle and overall sentiment especially on the senior level isn’t strong from what I’ve heard (Moelis actually pouched one of their MDs last month)

Although not on the same level, but I’m excited to see what Piper will be up to after taking over DBO. DBO’s tombstones were crazy…

None of my friends are excited about the incoming 2023 SA class. HR looked over a lot of good resumes and literally ignored their emails vouching for kids.

Also lots of MDs are jumping shipping to other EBs and even some BBs who are able to buy out their vested equity. Overall morale is low

Diversicore goes ham with the diversity hiring harder than probably any other bank. Every bank engages in woke garbage but the leadership at Evercore are true believers, not just paying lip service. You end up with lots of mediocre juniors, frustrated seniors, and then high turnover when the reliable juniors get leaned on too heavily and burn out.

They're definitely losing the "elite" reputation they had pre-COVID, though it's not irreversible yet

Tombstones are snapshots of deals a firm have worked on/closed and are usually seen on the firm’s website as a flex
