Why Citi ?

Hi guys, a long-time lurker here and found the discussions to be extremely insightful. I am preparing for interviews at Citi and would like to know something more about "Why Citi" ques besides the standard answers to this ques.

1) Citi has an immensely powerful global presence across all divisions (IB, corporate/retail banking). Great way to get exposed to deals in different geographies

2) Very large balance sheet so they are able to provide a wide range of financing services which can be a good learning experience for analysts

3) Strong emerging markets presence (esp. Latam)- definitely a way that Citi differentiates themselves

Capital-intensive industries like industrials, energy / natural resources, P&U, etc. On the product side, M&A is an obvious candidate but also their SPAC ECM team has done well during the SPAC attack over the last year and a half.

Just wondering which division/group you're interviewing for? Applied to Citi myself and been waiting to hear back.

Bc you love working with their horrible virtual desktop that crashes every time you add new bullet points to a slide.....

For these questions I usually just talked about some cool deals/groups and then followed it up with who I networked with and why those groups were neat as well and spoke to the firm/IBD as a whole
