Will changing sectors put me behind?

I have a Bachelors in Finance and currently working on my MS in Financial Management with a concentration in investment analysis I graduate next fall. I'm currently a budget analyst in the government sector and own a home healthcare agency (I've worked many years in healthcare management.)

I'm looking to get into investment banking or work for an investment/asset firm. Once I finish my degree I'll have more time to work longer hours and dedicate to this career. The only thing is even though I have lots of work experience I've managed many employees and have a strong work ethic, I don't have experience in the investment/asset sector. I don't want to go into something where everyone else has just graduated with their bachelor's and making the same as me. Any advice on how to avoid this if it's even unavoidable? 🤔
