Williams -> GS Pipeline

Why does Williams place so well in GS IB, with like 7-10 ppl going there for classic every cycle? I go to Y/P and we see similar numbers and it's insane Williams places that well for such a small school. Also, see people from Williams and GS end up at top MF PE and even some SM HF out in NY/CT.

Anyone have any insight?

Good school sure but not all good schools recruit that well for GS even top LACs or schools like Cornell. OP has a point ngl

Alumni pull hard. That's the key point. Not sure why people can't get that. Williams alumni I've met are willing to drive out to the school on weekends to talk with students they've connected. I don't really know any schools that have alums that pull as hard for their alums as Williams.

This really isn't that crazy I've seen Dartmouth ppl have crazier events (brother went there), and we have a whole event where like all alumni come down to campus for a weekend to help upperclassmen get jobs lol.

Alumni pull sure, but there's more to be said if they crush it totally at one firm and are average amongst the others lol

Not anymore, it's usually 15 or so, including Levfin + DCM/ECM + Classics, but only 5-7 in the year above me. Also if 15 per cycle would be near impossible since that's excluding UChicago/NU/Stanford/MIT/Gtown/Duke/Stern/Ross/Williams
