Write back to interviewer?

Still in the recruiting process.
Had 3 interviews in the first round and I thought that I got a No in first one but did pretty well in the last two.
I just received a "We are still reviewing feedbacks, blablabla" email while some of my friends received invitation to superday.

Is it OK to reach out to the last interviewer? (the most senior one and I did a good job during his interview) I actually want to get some referral from him but I would write to ask for an informational talk. Is it ok to do that?

Thanks in advance

I was denied a super day at my top choice once upon a time but still made it a point to reach out to each person I interviewed with to thank them for the opportunity, to ask them for feedback, and to explicitly reiterate that I would be back for Full time recruiting. I ended up getting the superday a few days later. It's all about showing them how badly you want it. That could be the single difference that separates you from someone who may be more qualified on paper.

I really don't like getting thank you e-mails from candidates. I really, really don't like it when those follow up e-mails have pro forma questions that I have to respond to.

I know the candidates all want the position, any position, badly. A thank you e-mail isn't going to change my assessment of their fit for the job, except possibly negatively.

A candidate showing how keen/desperate he/she is for the job via follow up e-mails embarrasses the candidate and embarrasses me by making me party to such embarrassment. It's like the feeling you get when you meet a friend's elderly aunt in his company and she soils herself loudly.

I've griped about this to others in my team and they have similar views.

Some people like these sort of touches. But not me.

If you have to send these notes, play it safe and don't include any questions in the note. That risks making the recipient feel guilt and so resent you for making him/her feel guilt (cf defecating grannies).

Those who can, do. Those who can't, post threads about how to do it on WSO.

To add my $0.02, I tried this once when I was on the waitlist (wasn't desperate or anything, but sent an email reiterating my interest) and it did nothing - in fact, as above, I think I may have ruined a potential relationship - the interviewer had responded to my thank you email and even suggested catching up at some point, and after I was put on the waitlist, reiterated my interest and in the end didn't get the job, I never heard from the interviewer again - as @SSits said, it was clearly a bad idea and it definitely affected me negatively, and very likely embarrassed the interviewer so much he chose to no longer chat/meet with me.

Had never done it before that and will certainly never do it again - I'm just glad it wasn't a spot that I really needed.

You have one shot to get the job or not get it at the superday - as above, you clearly aren't the only person who really wants it and saying you really want it a) isn't providing them any new information and b) only makes you seem a bit desperate, like you have no other options (why should they hire you if that's true?) and therefore (perhaps counterintuitively) basically ensures you likely won't get the job.
