WSO - PLEASE make a 'Credit' forum for Private Credit, Commercial Banking, and Corporate Banking
It's time. There is a lot of demand for this. This will help credit folks quickly keep up with threads instead of digging through investment banking and private equity threads. This will also keep IB and PE forums cleaner.

It's already live. WSO responded quickly.

Agreed, a credit forum could also encompass public credit too.
Totally agree
Yes, a credit forum (public, private, specialty lending, high yield, munis, etc) would be great for a lot of folks
Would love to see this! Back when I was in school I'd spam the IB forum with corporate banking to credit hedge fund type questions.
Reported. Mods, come and get him, he's a spam artist.
Yeaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh bud, I'm gonna have to report you to the mods for that one buddy
+1 for Commercial Banking please. Thank you WSO
100% agree
Yes please
Maybe it can be a place for rx, too?
Pretty sure rx can belong in the IB forum no prob
Then ECM and DCM Folks want their own forum
Yeahhhhh, bud, ya see, if I go and do that, now I've got to make a new thread for everybody else who asks me. Boss is on my ass, I'm afraid I'm not gonna be able to do that and have to report you to the mods buddy.....
Hilarious.
Bump; credit forum much needed

Great suggestion
.
That would be a great question for the Credit forum, why don’t you take it over there? Thanks
Exactly.
More broadly, Corporate banking relates to size but it’s still commercial banking. However, corporate banking can also mean usage of a banks balance sheet to generate IB transactions, as well as utilizing capital markets for larger syndicated transactions. However, it all still primarily relates to lending, just different types.
Between 1 and 3 extra zeroes.
In most cases, size of company/client.
Corporate = large
Commercial = small/medium
How those are actually split depends heavily on bank
Corporate banking is commercial banking for large corporate clients
They just don’t want to say commercial bc it will fuck up their LinkedIn title.

Back this, would save a lot time of bookmarking threads

Let’s keep bumping this until it happens. Literally makes no sense that it’s not a thing yet.

There have been lots of corporate banking discussions, it's time to have a dedicated forum for all the threads.
Every year there’s like 10 threads on this and all of them get ignored by AndyLouis and WallStreetOasis.com & Co.

In terms of support for this subforum….
you have my axe!

I propose a divorce between M&A and Capital Markets.
I agree. Would love to learn more about the space. However I'm unsure how commercial and corp banking could fit into this credit forum as the demand I've seen mostly skews towards buyside credit, and it's probs what people think of anyway
While I see your point, but these both would be more closely tied to credit/lending vs IB.
If the site can distinguish between AM and WM and create separate subforums for those; then it can distinguish between buyside credit/debt capital and commercial/corporate banking.
Yes that's what I was proposing. If a credit forum really gets set up, might be helpful for everyone to chip in and redirect their previous credit-related posts to the new forum so that it gets more initial traffic and that everything gets collated nicely

Private credit in particular is receiving heightened interest from undergrads and IB pros looking to exit.

Can an official from WSO weigh in on this? This forum has been needed for years.
Done. Just need to get it up into quicklink bar up top (will replace "WM" since that is not very active) and then start moving threads that should be in credit forum over...will take some time for that... but people can start posting into it now...
Thank you so much for your quick response here. This is huge news.
lol bro no need to replace the WM forum. What are the WM people gonna do? Pretty important area in finance

When they look at you?
Patrick: Look ~ you see our gold chains
And our flashy cars ~~
I see a lack of self worth
And I see battle scars ~~
He has to be with twenty man
When he wears jewelry ~~
And you see it as gangsta
I see it as insecurity ~~

Venture capital as well?
https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forum/venture-capital perfect example of why adding forums doesn't mean people will put discussion in the proper forums :-)
