How is this even a bad question?
Ask people on campus, don’t let people find out who u r, posting on WSO about which frats to rush isn’t a great look
Noone knows who i am, i just dont understand why this is such a ridiculous question, sincerely
How many Kelley freshman from Long Island will be rushing SAE and have autism? Good chance you're the only one
frat rush based on personality, looks, contributions, social status from high school. if you're going in thinking that you will just use them for recruiting, trust me you wont even make it past the first round
🤦🤦im just curious. I also asked about professional fraternities and clubs which make complete sense to ask about.
just be genuine. being completely honest, freshmen fall you do not need to worry about recruiting, here is what you should do, genuinely
rush a frat, join 2 - 3 business organizations -- being involved is good for resumes, interviews, and knowing upperclassmen. (the seniors when youre a freshmen will be analysts when youre recruiting, so make friends and plant seeds now!) do not be transactional or annoying, this is the best time to show off your personality and get them know you so they can vouch for you later.
get a 4.0 gpa, take the easiest classes, read the news weekly, keep up with markets, politics, etc.
thats literally all you need to do as a freshmen. in your spring semester you should start networking with seniors and juniors on how to prepare for recruiting, and obviously try your best to get an internship in anything finance related.
Fraternities usually post the internships their brothers got each summer on their instagram, go look who got banking internships and their linkedin to see if they're part of the program. I wouldn't join a specific social frat just for the pipeline though, rush and see where you best fit in
I would not join a social fraternity with any expectation of it helping with recruitment.
I didn’t go to Indiana, but I go somewhere similar in terms of greek life (SEC). In my experience, a lot of alumni from my fraternity had distanced themselves from the chapter after they graduated. Even when I was able to get them on a call, they were not as helpful as expected. Honestly, I had better conversations with random alumni from my school than with fraternity alumni.
The biggest advantage of joining a social fraternity is the number of opportunities it gives you to build confidence, get comfortable talking to others, and most importantly, get laid. IMO being a likeable, personable guy goes much further than being the smartest one in the room.
Business fraternities may be a different story, but I can’t really speak to that.
Second this; fellow analyst on my desk was frat prez of touse at a big state school and actively avoids mentioning it to anyone in the office (especially to seniors) because of the stereotypes/associations it carries. So yes, people distance themselves.
Guy above talking about making friends w/ the seniors when you're a freshman is on to something. I was in a biz frat but do actively go to bat for certain kids that took an effort to get to know me my senior yr.
Since there is a lot of criticism and not feedback, here is the deal:
Social fraternities are supposed to be centered around brotherhood and getting close with your pledge class. Anything else is ancillary. Perfectly reasonable to be curious about business frats’ pipelines, but seeking out social frats based off of their merits in recruiting can come across as disingenuous.
Not that that was your intention.

This advice applies to other threads on "pipelines" that I constantly see posted here too. Pipelines as prospects view them do not really exist. What you are seeing is a trend of people following the same path. But this is ultimately a result of relationships built between individuals and not resting on something so basic as common group membership. No bank is really saying "wait did we get our three annual IU Kelley sig eps in the class yet?" There could be some initial warmth, and you might get a first round out of it, but no one is going to bat for you in the final round because of your school or frat in common. Honestly, if you are interested in recruiting join the workshop and related finance clubs, and if you want to make friends a social frat might be a good move. But coming into a social fraternity to try to get into IB just sounds like a waste of everyone's time.
You’re a squid dude, pack it up
💪💪
with the attitude shown in your responses, i don't think you have a chance at frats, much less IBW
Again, you dont know me, but you can have your opinion
