Accepting second choice offer too early
About to start my spring week. Pretty well known that all candidates get fast tracked to the assessment centre. What happens if you get the return offer, but want to work at a different firm?
In my example, I’m most interested in ER within the bank (ER Spring), but would probably prefer an internship in VC or consulting. Say I get an ER return offer way before, do I reject it and hope to get VC/Consulting, accept it, or accept it and decline if I get VC/Consulting?

Accept and decline, since you’re switching industries entirely, what are they gonna do call up 500 companies to figure out where some intern is going?
