Applying to numerous roles within Banks for FT Recruiting?

Hi all,

Completed a Commercial Banking internship this summer at a reputable bank (not a BB). Sadly, I did not receive a return offer, largely due to major internal restructuring that occurred right before I joined. The people who extended me an offer (vouched for me) and were enthusiastic about hiring and training me moved to entirely different coverage/teams. We had minimal interaction throughout the summer, besides some lunches and happy hours.

Our team also got a new head with a higher Revenue target (which he was behind on), so my internship was obviously his last priority. My "Mentor" was nice enough but completely useless as a resource and never even accepted me on LinkedIn. Same with another director in charge of Analysts. Nice during events, no care beyond that. Not getting a return obviously sucked since the work was super easy, and I thought I got along well.

I am going through FT recruiting now, had a few interviews, but ultimately nothing yet. Applying mostly for Corporate, Commercial, and Markets roles.

My question is: when networking and applying to large banks with numerous open FT 2026 Roles, is it a bad look to apply for more than one? Like if a Bank has Capital Markets, Credit, and Corporate Banking roles open, should I only be picking one or two? On one hand, you don't want to seem "desperate" or come across as clueless, but on the other, I'm genuinely gunning for anything decent and would hate to miss out. How big of a red flag is this for HR or hiring managers with access to Workday?
