Are sourcing internships really that bad for recruiting?
I’m a student at a semi target and will be recruiting next spring, I saw the thread posted recently about kids with internships at “NextGen Growth Partners”/search funds in general.
I haven’t interned there specifically but all my past roles have been market research and sourcing. My school doesn’t have great OCR so it’s hard to get high level internships. I’m trying to land a internship for fall and so far have a couple options. 1. Search fund and sourcing or 2. Small M&A shop that consists of what I believe are 3 or 4 retired bankers/industry professionals that specializes in. No idea the role yet as I contacted them via cold email.
Was wondering do recruiters look at a search fund/similar internships and go “this kid doesn’t know sh**”? And does it hurt your application when it comes to recruiting.
