Attend target school and have decent (non finance) internships, want to break into finance
Senior at Berkeley majoring in Data Science. Internship experience at Capital One and NASA doing data analysis and software development. 3.25 GPA.
I would like to break in to the financial industry (I know that's vague). I know I can't get trader or quantitative analyst positions at top companies, but I would like to put myself in position to obtain these roles in a couple of years.
I've applied to few "lesser" financial firms, but I'm not really getting interviews. I think this is because 1) no prior financial experience 2) they're looking for people to start soon (I graduate in Spring).
Any advice?
