BAML In-Bank Lateral After SA
Hey all,
Just started the summer program at BAML. Is anyone familiar with opportunities to lateral within the bank if the group you interned with isn't a great fit? For example, say you summered in Research, would a lateral to Capital Markets be possible? Or, Coverage to M&A? Or Capital Markets to Coverage?

I believe at the end of the summer you are able to submit your resume to an internal lateral pool and from there you would interview with different groups - I've heard it's pretty much the same interview process as SA (behavioral and technical), so be ready for that. You aren't guaranteed a spot either, so if they don't take you, believe it won't be likely they'll take you back in your previous role. I would ask one of your contacts in the group you'd like to switch to mid-way through your internship and see what options there are to make the move.
