Barclays S&T, MS FSE vs. JPM Equity Research

Hi all,

I want to to get some suggestions in terms of choosing between these 3 options, all at their New York offices. I am personally fine with doing any, however I want to know which one might be better in terms of its relative strength, and how probable I can land a full time offer.

Thanks!

I'm not an expert but just my two cents. I would take MS FSE. Its basically internal M&A, and if you search a few of the old threads on WSO about FSE, its pretty hard to get into. Not sure what exit opps are like, but I believe to have heard that they have a lot of Ex-McKinsey/MBB people inside the group. Also pretty technical too - I think they train with the IBD guys as well. Definitely a unique opportunity. But if you are set on markets Barcap Fixed Income is top. And JPM ER is definitely top in research as well. They are all really different, go with where you think will lead you to where you want to be in the future.

Also, just an advice: you probably registered through linkedin, I would take off the picture and change your username. It reveals a lot about yourself (school, name, etc).

ya searched a bit.. FSE was definitely hard since they take very few. i'm assuming return ratio is high as well. i didn't have a huge liking for the people tho, a bit intimidating. most people are from yale/harvard/mit and very few wharton kids... haha thanks for the suggestion =)
