Best Internship for FT recruiting?
Hey All,
Looking for some advice right now - Was fortunate enough to land two offers for next summer:
1. Operating team at a well-known MM PE firm
2. Corp Strat at a "top" tier hedge fund (Citadel, Point72, Millennium)
My end goal is to be in IB (I think), although I'm not hesitant to start a career in either as long as they offer promising opportunities for growth down the line.
Curious as to what you all think about both opportunities in terms of learning/development as well as potential comp growth.
From the perspective of someone who recruited for FT lateral positions, would recommend the PE operating role. I think the story is easier to tell from that role.
Can look like this
1) operating at PE
2) realized was more interested in investing team work
3) would rather banking deal experience than move to PE investment team to learn about executing the deal or something
If you don't mind me asking - would it make it more sense to delay graduation by a year and recruit for a SA next year due to the lateral hiring market right now?
