Best use of my time?

I am an incoming Freshman at a Semi-Target and am deciding whether I should study and take the SIE exam or learn python for financial application over the summer (I just got back from my vacation with my friends and have some extra time on my hands at home until school begins). I know the SIE expires after 4 years, is it worth it to take even though I am only a freshman? Thank you.
