Big 4 Audit or Amazon

Hey everyone, Have not posted for a while, but I have a question about what do people think about the following to grad opportunities i have on the table. Either doing Big 4 Audit at a major city, where I will obtain my CPA and then go do other things with my life. Or working at Amazon in their Area Manager Program, where they usually go into Operational Managers or go into corporate by the time I am 3-4 years in (which is around the time I get my CPA for the other route) and then I can consider going into a MBA.

The Amazon offer sure does pay well (like 2x the audit offer almost) but not sure if it would be a hindrance to my career compared to starting at a Big 4. Hope yall can give some advice on this :)

"alreadyrich" Without a doubt the Amazon offer if an MBA is on the table. It will be easier to get into a top school with amazon versus big4, you get paid a lot more, and your exit opps post MBA will be much broader. Only rationale for big4 will be you do not want to get an MBA and you see yourself in a controller role in the future.

Did you just see the name Amazon and not look at the job description? Area manager looks like it's supervising wharehouse employees who are sending packages. Job requirements include being able to lift 50 pounds. I'd take the big 4 position in a heartbeat.

That is the case, but would MBA's not value the experience of managing some 200-400 people in a fast paced operations setting? That is the major concern I have, it does seem pretty intensive with looking at worker productivity and managing production targets.

I'm not sure whether adcom's will see this as a step down from ticking boxes and reading other people's work to provide reasonable assurance. It's just the number of auditors all the big 4 hire is so much i'm not sure if it would be special at all when apply to MBA.
