Breaking In For Free
Hey Yall,
I have been trying to break into IB for a long time. I have also offered to work for free for many firms, because of my genuine interest. With one firm I had been interviewing for 3 weeks and on week 4 & 5 I had to create a deliverable. I had created the dilverables and submitted it. After the 5 week the dude had ghosted me. Now I dont even know what to do. I graduated a few months ago too. I want to be a banker. Do I keep pushing???
The issue is rarely how much to pay you. The issue is that training a junior is often extra work. Assuming you have no IB experience, to any hiring manager you're just some unknown variable in a labor market full of known variables (i.e. people with actual banking experience).
