Brokerage vs Principal, What’s the better career choice for this specific situation.

You’re new to the industry and deciding between an analyst position at a brokerage shop vs analyst position on the principal side. Both are in the same city which is a large/active market within the sunbelt.

The brokerage position is at one of the CBRE’s, JLL’s, Eastdil’s etc on a capital markets team with a large market share of transactions. With the opportunity to switch to production one day.

While the other option is working as an analyst at a well known national acquirer/ developer with room to climb up the ladder.

At the end of a 30+ year career if each person stayed on their side of the business. Who would do better financially and from a knowledge gain perspective?
