Can a US MBA be used to Lateral?

Okay, so I’m about to begin my undergrad at UCL in about 2 weeks. However, I don’t really see myself working here and my ultimate goals has always been to work in the US.

If I’m lucky enough to be able get relevant internship experience at an EB/BB during my time in London, will topping off my profile with a H/S/W MBA make it feasible for me to break into IB in NY/SF?

Of course if I get an FT offer in London, I’ll take it and then try to move ( even though I think there’ll only be a slim chance).

I ask this now as I know American programs are heavy on extra curriculars and if I’m going to go, I’ll need to start building my profile from my 1st year at uni to be competitive.

If you have some insights for consulting in the same context (particularly MBB), feel free to share!

PS: I’m not American.

Yes, my NYC-based group had predominantly international MBA summer associates. Backgrounds included Asian, Eastern European and UK undergrad schools. Most people came from finance (but not banking) backgrounds.

All were given returns this year.

Okay that’s definitely motivating. I’ve been looking at 2+2 programs which is essentially a deferred entry system that let’s you apply straight out of undergrad. Do you reckon I could easily go from MBB/T2 consulting (or Big 4 valuation) -> H/S/W MBA -> NY/SF IB or would the consulting background put me at a disadvantage?
