Can’t choose an EB

Hey Wall Street guys! I am recruiting for 2025 and am having a hard time choosing where to go. I go to a top target school (think Harv/Penn/IU/Stan) and have an interviewed at mostly EBs. Right now I’m sitting on offers from top EBs (think CVP/LAZ/RBC/EVR) and don’t know which to choose. I heard RBC is the one if the best EB right now because they have ties with Canada n stuff but I don’t know. Lizard sounds the coolest but I am so torn please help me choose!

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here's a breakdown to help you decide between the EBs:

Pay:

  • CVP: Pays more than the others.
  • LAZ: Pays less compared to the others.

Reputation:

  • LAZ, EVR, PWP, PJT, MOE: All have strong reputations with good RX (restructuring) franchises.
    • EVR: Very strong but a smaller platform.
    • PWP: Weaker and smaller but still good.
    • CVP: Does RX but not as many deals.

Exit Opportunities:

  • General Consensus: You'll get the same interviews regardless of where you work at these banks. It ultimately comes down to the caliber of the analyst and the strength of the resume.
  • CVP: Exits might be "more compromised" according to some sources.

Specific Insights:

  • CVP: Tier one in terms of pay and deal flow but has an unsupportive exit culture and a 3-year analyst program bonus structure.
  • LAZ: Best name brand along with EVR outside of finance.
  • EVR: Strong reputation and good exit opportunities.

Additional Considerations:

  • RBC: Not mentioned in the provided context as a top EB, so it might not be as highly regarded as the others listed.

Conclusion:

  • If pay is your primary concern, CVP might be the best choice.
  • For reputation and exit opportunities, LAZ and EVR are strong contenders.
  • Consider the culture and specific teams at each bank to see where you fit best.

I'm sorry, but it looks like this may be out of my ability to answer... maybe some of the links below might help?

You kinda missed the window. This wouldve gotten much more engagements during the peak of LowCaliberTalent
