Cold networking with buyside headhunters

This feels like something obvious but Id like to get advice about best approach to cold outreach with buyside headhunters. I had previously lateralled internally into IB at a top BB in a random part of the year so dont know a ton of people who went through standard buyside recruiting to ask about their experience nor would want to know I am looking around.

Im considering non investment buyside roles like business dev, portfolio operations and investor relations, and Ive heard it is the same HHs who cover such opportunities as traditional PE.

There are a few HH firms Id like to get in touch with who I do not have prior connectivity or friends who have contacts. I tried linkedin requesting / cold-emailing recruiters but have had no replies after sending a brief intro, explanation of what roles interest me and a request to have a call, though didnt initially include a resume so not sure if that was the problem.

Feels like theres something obvious Im missing and I feel pretty silly asking. Thanks so much for any suggestions here!

Capital markets, but I've been in banking for a few years at this point with multiple closed deals.
