Commercial Banking/ABL -> MM PE
Have you seen any one make this direct jump? Does one necessarily have to lateral through to perhaps a MM IB or BB IB analyst position first before having a realistic chance?
If anyone has done it or knows someone that has,
- How did he/she do it?
- What skills did they emphasize from their credit/comm. banking experience
- What skills did they lack (in comparison to a IB analyst) and how did they overcome them?
- How did you/they convince your interviewer(s) that they were a good fit for equity investments coming from a credit background?
- How much did all-in comp package change? (if willing to share/give a general range)
