With regards to interview questions that seek to gauge the interviewee's knowledge of the firm he's applied at, what are the major differences between the top 8 or 10 investment banks in the US? I looked at the league tables on Financial Times and it looks like MS is strong in M&A, BAML is strong in loans, etc...but are there things these firms are really known for? I go to Wendy's for the fries, Burger King for the dollar menu, and McDs for the big mac or McNuggets...You get the idea. Why would Apple go to Barclays or GS instead of Citi?
