Consultant Performance Evaluation and Switch

I recently had the end year review. And the feedback is low communication skills, and its negative impact on the work. I want to continue my career as a consultant. I know that I sometimes have this difficulty, but I also want to switch as the performance manager said i should start looking for other options. My options are 1) Improve my communication skills and demonstrate better results 2) Move to other B4 3) Make a lateral movement and apply for other type of firms. Any suggestions to improve the communication skills (1 year consultant, are they exigent?) What could I do? I am also thinking to take this as opportunity and perhaps make a lateral movements from IT advisory in risk to the strategy side. Thanks in advance, and I hope my written communication skills are not as bad as they said.
