Covid Relocation
Hi Everyone,
I applied and was hired last December to a middle office position at a BB at their back office hub (jacksonville, charlotte, slc, delaware). I started in july and, because of Covid, have been working from home. I live in NY so, in addition to working from home, I've been able to go into the NY office on a semi-regular basis.
While I originally excited to move to a different state, I now want to stay in the NYC office. Generally speaking there is less career opportunity in the back office hubs. (especially since I eventually want to be front office). Further, my family has had a couple of developments (grandma moved in, dad broke leg, brother moved out of state) that make staying home more important.
What would be the best way to ask to permanently be placed in the NY office? Should I wait a couple more months before asking or rip the band aid? Should I even bring up my family problems?
Any advice is appreciated.
