much less.

I know that partners at Deliotte in 2005 technically started at $250k, but most realistically started around $300k in there first year(there are many variables). It obviously escalates from there, but exactly how and how much I don't know. It is possible to bring in a few mil, but you've got to be heavy hitter by the partners standard.

Like vandeja1 said, partners typically start at $250-300k.

It really depends on how senior they are in the firm (i.e. office managing partner/area managing partner/global partner/etc). Back in '04, a partner told my intern class that the average salary for partners that year was $500k. That's not including bonus though, and bonuses can be up to 200% of a partner's salary.

Public accounting pays much less than consulting and i-banking, but it's less competitive, offers more stability (not many reports of CPAs being fired at the moment) and the hours aren't bad on a constant basis.

Assuming you get your CPA license at the minimum of expereience 1 or 2 years depending on the state, its probably averages about 8-10 years minimum on the audit side. Not sure about tax or other lines of business.

RBS is better than YOUR BS, and that's not saying much
